This coffee shop located in The RACC at 510 Pioneer Street in Ridgefield, Washington, is a unique partnership between the Ridgefield School District and Killa Bites.  Students in the CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) Program worked with their instructor and many profesisonals in the community,  including Laura Jhaveri of Killa Bites, to develop the concept for The Birds and The Beans.  The shop opened on October 2, 2019 and continues to be an incubator project for the CAPS students.  Laura works with the students weekly on projects pertaining to the running of the coffee shop such as marketing and cost analysis giving the students full access to a functioning business.  The shop provides a tremendous resource to the students so they can learn real-life business skills while it also provides a unique coffee and dining experience to community members.  If you haven't visited, we encourage you to stop by and see what the high school students have created and observe their on-going efforts to make it thrive.
